Having a site map can be a huge help, both for search engine optimization (SEO) and to help your users quickly find what they need on your site. The system dynamically generates a site map with links to all your category pages, content pages, brand pages, and product pages, in addition to other links defined in your header and footer.

Viewing the Site Map in the Customer Interface

To visit the site map, simply type /siteMap after your domain name in your browser window.

The resulting page lists all the links in your global header and footer, followed by links to each of the content pages, categories, and brands in the system.

In addition, next to each category and brand, another smaller link appears for the "Site Map" of that category or brand. Clicking this link takes you to the Site Map Detail page for that category or brand.

This detail page lists the products under the category or brand with links to their pages. Note: To protect system resources, this list is limited to the first 1,000 products under the category or brand.

The idea is for either a human user or a search engine to be able to quickly see the links to every page on the site.

You can easily add a link to the site map either on the global header or footer for the customer interface. Under the "Header and Side Panel" settings screen, add "siteMap" to either the "Footer Links" setting (for the global footer) or the "Navigation Bar Links" setting (for the global header).

Note: It may take a few minutes for the link to appear after changing the setting.
